Auckland Startup Weekend is Rocking Out to Sunday Business with Andrew Patterson

by

They do talk a lot but this Sunday; RadioLIVE is rocking out Auckland Startup Weekend. Young Enterprise Ambassador, MC of Tedx Auckland 2012, and a man who is fervently passionate about facilitating success among entrepreneurs, RadioLIVE Host Andrew Patterson is Live this Sunday from Auckland Startup Weekend.

This is the first time RadioLIVE and Auckland Startup Weekend have collaborated to bring this exciting event to a wider audience and it’s a good thing too, because this Auckland Startup Weekend is 100% over-subscribed. An indication that the famous Kiwi penchant for invention is still alive and kicking. Fortunately, for those who couldn’t be accommodated this time around there is another Startup Weekend planned for November to meet demand.

Andrew & Emirates: Kiwi Icons of Business and Innovation

Andrew Patterson, Host Sunday Business

Andrew is RadioLIVE’s Business Editor. Prior to joining RadioLIVE in 2006, he was based in Sydney where he was a business presenter on ABC’s continuous news network, NewsRadio. He has also worked in both the finance and tourism sectors and gained his commerce degree from the University of Auckland more years ago than he cares to remember!

Andrew Patterson isn’t the only iconic figure featuring in this Auckland Startup Weekend. The event venue represents the best in innovation that New Zealand has to offer. Emirates Team New Zealand very generously donated the venue for this weekend while the team and the yachts have set sail to compete in the northern hemisphere.

Emirates Team New Zealand

Around 3 months ago, the newly minted Startup Weekend Auckland team assembled to look at the Emirates Team New Zealand building as a possible venue for the Kauffman Foundation entrepreneurial event. We were blown away. The very building breathes innovation. From the room full of forefront artists of design and physics and meteorology to the incredible engineering and artisanship of the boats themselves, this venue screamed the best in Kiwi ingenuity. It was perfect! It was also our good fortune that Emirates Team New Zealand would be off to compete in the AC World Series this week. Good luck!

Down under, it will be all hands on deck too, as 80 participants pitch their ideas on Friday night and then work together in teams to make a select few, entrepreneurial reality. Auckland Startup Weekend will share the excitement through online media channels Twitter: https://twitter.com/AKLSW, Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/StartupWeekendNZ and of course, turn your dial to RadioLIVE for exciting highlights on Sunday morning at 11am, Sunday Business with Andrew Patterson.
